Austin Kerkhover begins his second season as assistant athletic trainer.
Kerkhover, who’s a native of Chester, Ill., is a 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in general studies. Kerkhover competed in track and field for the Tigers, running the 200-, 400- and 600-meter events and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
Prior to joining the UA Fort Smith sports medicine staff, Kerkhover was a student trainer at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a master’s degree in science this past May. While there, Kerkhover worked with track and field, cross country and football.
At UA Fort Smith, Kerkhover will work with volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country and women’s basketball and assist with men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis.
