Crowder Field

Crowder Field

Crowder Field opened for play in the early spring of 1994. It is named in honor of legendary former Lions coach Bill Crowder, who won more than 1,000 games during his 32 seasons at UAFS.

The spacious ballpark replaced the Lions’ former field, which was located adjacent to the UAFS Fieldhouse. That area is now a part of the campus green. Crowder Field, which is located adjacent to the Stubblefield Center, features a grass playing field with a crusher-dust warning track. Its dimensions are 328 feet down the left-field line, 411 feet to center field and 334 feet down the right-field line. It features a new electronic, inning-by-inning scoreboard in left field, in-ground dugouts with bull pens located near each dugout, and an outdoor hitting cage.

The spectator area, which consists of bleachers and a terrace area suitable for lawn chairs, will seat approximately 1,000. Crowder Field hosts several high school games and tournaments throughout the year, including the Northside-Southside 7A-West Conference series.
