The UAFS men’s and women’s tennis teams will begin their quest for their first Heartland Conference Tournament championships on Friday during the six-team, two-day affair at Kiest Tennis Center in Dallas.
            Live video and results will be available at Heartland Conference Tournament Central.
            The Lions (8-11) will be the No. 3 seed and will play No. 6 seed and host Dallas Baptist in the first round at noon. UAFS beat Dallas Baptist 8-1 in their only encounter of the season in a neutral site match at Tulsa, Okla., on April 6.
            If they win their first round match, they will play No. 2 seed St. Edward’s, which received a first round bye, at 3 p.m. in the semifinals. The championship match will be at noon on Saturday.
            The Lady Lions (8-13) will be the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 seed Newman  in the first round at 9 a.m. UAFS lost to Newman 5-4 in their only encounter of the season in a neutral site match at Tulsa, Okla., on April 5.
            If UAFS wins its first round match, it will play No. 1 seed St. Mary’s at 3 p.m. in the semifinals. The championship match will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
