University of Arkansas - Fort Smith

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Two University of Arkansas-Fort Smith tennis players have earned Heartland Conference honors for their performances during this past week’s matches.

Lubos Sobotka was named the Men’s Tennis Player of the Week after going 2-0 while playing No. 1 singles during the Lions’ wins against Harding University and Heartland Conference foe Newman University.

Sobotka, a freshman from Nova Bana, Slovakia, also was 1-1 while playing No. 1 doubles.

Abby Whittemore was named the Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going 2-0 while playing No. 3 singles during the Lady Lions’ wins against Harding University and Newman University.

Whittemore, a freshman from McAllen, Texas, also was 2-0 while playing No. 1 doubles.
